To Mason On His Birthday

It's hard to believe that NINE years ago today I became a mother for the first time.  Those years have flown by way too quickly for me, but they've also been some of the best years of my life.  Mason is one of the funniest, smartest kids I know.  I love the conversations I have with him, whether I'm telling him stories about myself growing up, or we're discussing what he learned in science that day.  I'm always amazed at the insight he shows, and at how mature his thinking is.  Even when we have our difficulties he is quick to forgive and move on, and he never fails to show us his affection.  I love his contagious laugh and can't help but laugh myself whenever I hear it.  I cannot believe how old he is getting, and I'm so proud of the growth and progress he shows us every day.  Celebrating his birthday with him, especially during this time of year, really reminds me of how lucky and blessed I really am.  Happy birthday, Mason!  We love you so much!

1.  His favorite animals are the polar bear and the duck.

2.  He has a different voice for each of his stuffed animals, and uses them regularly.

3.  He works hard in Cub Scouts and just earned his Wolf Badge.

4.  He has the most amazing memory.  He can listen to a song or watch a movie once and have them memorized.

5.  He often walks around the house with a cane...just like Willy Wonka.

6.  He's got mad skills on the Wii.

7.  He loves to ride his bike.

8.  His laugh is really contagious and makes everyone else laugh.

9.  He absolutely hates cheese.
